• Aggressively investigate significant cost effective methods and materials that improve the value of design.
• Bring out the aspects of possible alternatives that will significantly improve the owner's value.
• Provide savings in maintenance and operating costs with less expensive material and systems that have the same quality and proven acceptable past performance.
• Review the status of the cost reduction summary that provides a shopping list as well as tracks the status of approved and implemented value engineering and cost reduction suggestions.
• Ensure sub-contractor participation.
